This video was made, to show you an technique which saves you from a lot of parameter-automating mayhem.
This trick I call 'meta-automation', it means you can bind several envelopes to several parameters, while only having to automate actually just one parameter.

ps. here I used a plugin called 'PeerCtrl' which an connect to all the other plugin in your audio environment. A limited feature is also possible in Ableton, I think its called 'macro'. Anyways, this should also be possible in other DAW's.
